Scalarama Highlands and Islands

This year’s Scalarama Highlands & Islands throws a spotlight on the brilliant indie venues and community cinemas we worked with last year, whilst welcoming some new celluloid visionaries into the fold.
In Inverness, Eden Court’s legendary Mystery Movie takes a dark and dangerous spin into the many worlds of Stephen King. There will be more horror on the menu for those who dare to take their pint upstairs at The Tooth & Claw. Less frightening – but equally thrilling – CineMor77 will be pitching their family-friendly cinema yurt in Nairn for what promises to be a unique theatrical experience.
Magical mobile cinema the Screen Machine is hitting the road, bringing their excellent movie menu to Grantown-on-Spey, Fort William and Brodick. Film fanatics in Muir of Ord and Cromarty will be showcasing some modern American gems. And you’ll need to cross water to visit Tiree’s wonderful Sea Change festival, or to attend some vital feature documentary events in Skye and Orkney.
Wherever you may be in the Highlands this September, take comfort in the fact there will probably be a cinema within striking distance…
