The Florida Project follows Moone a mischevious young girl and her friends as they explore the world around them, living in a motel near Disneyland. The children have a dysfunctional life, with irresponsible but caring parents. Sean Baker creates a film with sweetness and charm while dealing with poverty and family in America.
I chose this film because upon seeing it I instantly fell in love with it, the performance blew me away – Brooklynn Prince embodying a mischevious and naive little girl and Bria Vinaite as Hayley a well-meaning but ultimately reckless mother (acting for her first time). I think the film deals with an important topic beautifully through the eyes of a child. This is one of my favourite films and is definitely not one to miss. Carla ( from young adventurers cinema )
