This 90-minute programme, presented by Leeds Animation Workshop, will include the premiere of a new short film made at the Workshop, as well as a couple of old and new favourites from the local women’s collective, set up 40 years ago.
Also showing: a selection of films by women animators from the UK, and around the world – including films by indigenous artists, and emerging animators, never before seen in this country.
Featured are powerful works about First Nation heritage by Inuit and Siberian film-makers, alongside two of the new generation of Czech animators – young women launching their own fresh style within a great tradition of individuality and humour.
