Bees Make Honey are proud to present a one-off screening of Pan’s Labyrinth from the visionary director, Guillermo Del Toro. The film will be screened in the basement of Nottingham Writers’ Studio. There will be a dark fairytale theme to the evening with work by local artists and themed drinks to celebrate this strange and wonderful tale.
Pan’s Labyrinth unfolds through the eyes of Ofelia, a young girl uprooted to a remote military outpost commanded by her new stepfather. Ofelia lives out her own dark fable as she confronts otherworldly creatures in the neglected labyrinth behind the family home, guided and challenged by the mysterious Pan. Pan’s Labyrinth is an extraordinary gothic fairytale set against the powerful backdrop of Franco’s postwar Spain.
