Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense (1984). In memory of Jonathan Demme who died in April. Referred to as the Citizen Kane of concert movies when Jonathan Demme was asked by David Byrne to record their Speaking in Tongues tour at Pantages Theatre, Hollywood in 1983 something very special happened. The rock influences are all evident from Brian Eno produced visuals to David Byrne’s unique stage presence. From the moment David Byrne steps onto an empty stage with a cassette recorder and casually says ‘I have a song to sing for you’ witness why this concert movie will never be topped …and cinema seats are optional.
